COLLEGE PARK, Ga. -- Tommy L. Anderson, Sr., Brady Recreation Center Coordinator and Georgia AAU Boys' Basketball Sport Director recently?won two awards at the 132rd AAU National Convention in Hawaii.
Anderson scored the Growth Award and the All-American Award, according to a College Park official.
The Growth Award is given for an increase in membership. From 2011 - 2012, Georgia AAU Boys' Basketball gained 780 new members. The top number of teams sent to the?AAU Boys' National Championships earned Anderson?the All-American Award per district. ?
Since 2010, Anderson has taken on over 6,000 members as Georgia AAU Boys' Basketball Sport Director. He also supervises eleven district -level AAU National Qualifiers.
