NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Fighting Irish men's basketball coach Mike Brey is heading to the Big Apple.
As part of the festivities surrounding Notre Dame's first official day in the Atlantic Coast Conference on July 1, Brey will join ACC Commissioner John Swofford and in New York City for a special day welcoming the Irish, Pittsburgh Panthers and Syracuse Orange into the league. A press conference will begin at 2:00 p.m. (EDT), followed by The NASDAQ Stock Market Closing Bell ceremony at 3:45 p.m. (EDT). Both events will be held at the NASDAQ MarketSite (4 Times Square).
The press conference will emceed by ESPN's Brad Nessler and will feature remarks by Swofford. Other special guests in attendance will be Frank Beamer, Virginia Teach head football coach; Jim Boeheim, Syracuse men's basketball coach; Jimbo Fisher, Florida State football coach, Larry Fitzgerald, former Pittsburgh All-American and Pro Bowl wide receiver; and Roy Williams, North Carolina men's basketball coach.
The press conference and ceremony will be carried live by The ACC Digital Network on the ACC.com and ESPN3.
